Minnesota Lake Engagement

Engagement in Minnesota at Long Lake

Filed in Engagement — April 17, 2021

Last weekend, Jairo and I flew to Grand Forks, North Dakota to photograph Sabrina and Brayden’s awaited engagement session in Minnesota. Luck was on our side the whole time as this day was perfectly timed before a snow storm.

The session begun in the quaint downtown area of Grand Forks. There’s a bridge that merges the state of North Dakota with the state of Minnesota – so naturally it had to be featured!

The couple are both active in the Air Force and currently they are stationed a whole state apart in North and South Dakota. To commemorate their engagement story, it seemed fitting we fly out for the engagement session. This area was SO worth exploring all the way from Southern California. PLUS, I always love a reason to travel and see new places.

Although we started in downtown Grand Forks, I was hoping we could incorporate nature into the session, so I researched local areas the night before and thanks to Instagram, I discovered – Long Lake, Minnesota is a scenic masterpiece.

We drove a good two hours into Minnesota and saw flat land for miles. It was like arriving at an oasis when we turned towards what is labeled as Lake Itasca, and the car cheered with excitement! There was a sprawling lake view complete with pops of green lining the whole body of water. The lake looked like glass with the water being so still.

Needless to say, we powered through dropping temperatures and a darkening sky as the clouds rolled in. I give these two so much credit!

A romantic scene with an unforgettable story to go along with it.

Enjoy the highlights from this engagement in Minnesota.

Are you getting married? Reach out to book your engagement session, we are currently booking engagement sessions and weddings for 2021 and 2022.

Xoxo,
Sarah
